PRACTICUM OPPORTUNITIES

The Calgary Single Mothers Society offers meaningful practicum and field placement opportunities for students who are passionate about community work, social services, advocacy, and supporting women and families.

Practicum students gain hands-on experience in a community-based, volunteer-driven organization while developing practical skills in areas such as program delivery, community outreach, research, administration, event planning, and client support.Placements are guided by experienced mentors and grounded in lived experience, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed practice.

We welcome students from fields such as social work, psychology, community development, public health, education, human services, settlement studies, and related disciplines. Practicum roles may involve working with single mothers, South Asian women, newcomer families, and youth through our programs and initiatives.

Practicum opportunities are subject to availability and program needs.
